| This paper introduces two socio-sychological models in interlanguage variability research:the Labovian Paradigm and the Speech Accommodation Theory.Most researches on stylistic variations in interlanguage are done within the frame of the Labovian Para- digm.Researchers study stylistic variations based on’learners’attention to form’.The Speech Accommodation Theory tries to explain variations in interlanguage according to speakers’attitudes towards their interlocuters’social,educational and ethnic backgrounds. |
