| Lactose is a special sugar in the milk of almost all mammals. The activity of lactase is very small in the bodies of most of adult so that lactose intolerance may be a problem. Unabsorbed lactose is fermented in the large intestine and flatulence, diarrhoea and abdominal pains may occur. There isn’t a practical strategy for lactase deficiency now. |
