TiO2 is one kind of the common n-type semiconductor materials. Compounding TiO2 with other semiconductor materials to construct heterojunctions can broaden the light response of TiO2,reduce the chance of recombining between photogenerated holes and electrons and improve the photovoltaic conversion efficiency of the whole system. This paper focuses on the basic principles of heterojunctions functioning on photocatalysis and makes a summary of the application in the photoelectrochemical sensing field of heterojunctions based on TiO2. |
